Ayako Nagata Habing, was born in Tokyo Japan—an English 12 student and a working mother. She is tidiness with a delicate Japanese face and sparkling brown eyes.

Unlike other Japanese family, Ayako’s mother –a Korean married her Japanese father who is one year younger to her. It was very unique at her time due to Asian traditions and the diplomatic relationship between those two countries. Although her parents divorced when Ayako was 10, this marriage still influenced and encouraged Ayako when she chose to marry her Canadian husband. Her memory about Tokyo is the density of the population, “It was so crowded like whenever you opened the door, you could see thousands of people standing outside of your house.”

Ayako dreamed to become a teacher when she was in high school. She was deeply attracted by Japanese old style literature and comics books and hoped that one day she could teach the same in school. After managed to graduate from high school, she changed many temporary jobs like waitress, pharmacist until once her friend asked her to work in a dental office for only one day. This occasional opportunity made her realize her interest; so she stepped into a dental assistant school and finally got a job lasted for three years.

In 2001, Ayako planed to go to USA for 8-month language study; however when she applied visa, 911 happened and hence became the reason of her being rejected. Her English teacher, who came from Vancouver, suggested her to learn English in Canada, which could provide a better environment at lower costs. Ayako followed his suggestion. Therefore it became the turning point in her life.

In 2002, Ayako came to Vancouver. She met a Canadian guy which is one year younger than her through her friend and fell in love with him. Lately, this Canadian guy became her husband. Now they have two lovely children: a 4-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old boy.

Ayako met a lot of difficulties in the beginning as any other immigrants: homesickness, language and culture differences. Her husband was born in a typical German Canadian Christian family which is totally different with Ayako. But her husband gave her enormous supports and she gradually enjoyed the different life style here. She started hiking and camping and derived an immense pleasure from outdoor sports.

Now she works in a Japanese restaurant as a waitress. She particularly trained her children to speak Japanese and it becomes the main language between them. She hopes her children can learn and enjoy Japanese culture like she did.

Considering about her future, Ayako said she wants to bring her entire family to go back to Japan. “I want to live close to my mom and look after her when she becomes really old.” Ayako has her own filial piety. That means one more again, she needs to adjust her life and she is mentally prepared to take the major responsibilities for her family. “I want to give my husband a chance to understand Japanese culture.” Meanwhile she is picking up her old dream: she is determined to be a TESOL teacher. She plans to spend two years and make herself and her family ready for this movement. And hopefully, we can see her teaching English in Tokyo two years later.

Beatrice: Nice to see you using a direct quote. Very effective. Logically structured, too. Still places here you can "tighten" your prose a bit, Beatrice, before you submit it to me. Aim to reduce 5-10% in word count without changing ideas.

Ayako: Lots of detail brings Beatrice's interesting story to life. To improve split two or three paragraphs into subtopics and try combining some sentences to make them compounds.

Hi,Beatrice.
Thank you for writing such a nice biography for me. It is very interesting to read my own history, and it well done.

I think Ayako did a good job by using a casual tone to describe my past hisatory.

The whole piece of writing is clear, easy to follow and understand.

Akayo didn't only summary the major events happened in my life, but also gave enough margin for my personal feeling which makes the whole biography becomes considerate and interesting.

Thanks Ayako, and I'm looking forward to cooperating with you next time.

From Liza:

The Biography of Chelsea Dorothy Lepin

February 1, 1989

Her cries filled the room on the cool winter’s evening, and the tears of joy could not be contained by the eyes of those that surrounded her. The mother gazed deeply into the child’s eyes and began to softly hum a nursery melody. The baby girl sensing her mother’s warmth and comfort began to fall into a sweet slumber. As the child’s eyes appearing heavy, began to close the mother looked at the child in awe and smiled.

Chelsea Dorothy Lepin was born on February 1,1989 in RGH
(Richmond General Hospital). Born as the third child in a family of five. Her mother of Scottish decent and her father from Scottish and French decent. However Chelsea was born in the small city of Richmond in British Columbia. Known as being the small city with a faster paste, and everyone kinder then ever. Also recognized for its great agricultural industry and it’s airport. One of the things that made Richmond so special was it’s remarkable land structure. Richmond, was actually composed of a group of islands at the mouth of the Fraser River, making it one of the few places on earth at sea level.

Threw her childhood years Chelsea was always a happy enthused little girl always ambitious and ready to explore. If life was the bull she was ready to take it by the horns. At the same time she was still more that intone with her feminine nature. Growing up as a child one of her major interests was the pop girl group Spice Girls. Not only did their Spice Girls collectables of stickers dolls and their trendy songs intrigue her but also the powerful message they sent out to girls motivated Chelsea. Spice Girls believed that anyone girl around the world could be a Spice Girl, because all girls had girl power.
”Girl power” meant that as long as you had a dream and believed in yourself that there was no obstacle that would ever be big enough to stop you from achieving your goal. That if you worked hard that there was nothing you couldn’t do.

Chelsea studied at Mitchell Elementary School (in Richmond) until the age of ten. Her parents decided to move to delta and briefly after her the company her father was working for requested d that her be relocated to the branch located in Edmonton meaning the Lapin family would need to move. The move only lasted a year at which point the Lepin family returned to B.C. After there return Chelsea’s parents enrolled her into NWSS (New West Secondary) Due to Chelsea’s disinterest in school her parent transferred her to Burnaby South Secondary where she struggled and later dropped out.

After working several jobs and work fields, Chelsea obtained several transferable skills and knowledge. Through time and experience Chelsea had decieded she that fashion design was the field she wanted to pursue.

Chelsea is currently enrolled In school at the New West Adult Learning Center. She is completing her adult dogwood. Once complete would like to go into Fashion Design and later in life espires to design clothing and open her own sore.

To me Chelsea earned her badge as a spice girl! She never let any challenges she faced get in her way though many she faced. She’s fighting hard to achieve her goals and dreams. To me Chelsea’s earned her badge as a spice girl! You go Chelsea Spice!!!!!!!!!!!!!
