I read two or three poems weekly and own more than 20 volumes of poetry. Often, poems speak more directly to my heart than stories do. I’ve written some good poems and encourage students by showing them good, modern poems and having them write one each term.

“If you read aloud “The Three Hundred”(Tang dynasty poetry, actually more than 300 poems), you can at least chant in the rest of your life.” My parents often reminded me when I was a little girl. I recited and recited just for pleasing them, but I knew I can never become a poet.

As the poems' favorite reader, I have four books of poetries. I passionately ready the poems almost everyday. The reason that I like to read poems is that, the rhyme of the verses makes me keep reading even though I don’t understand every single word.

Sometime in my life, I regularly attended poetry reading sessions. I found poetry fascinating and abstract. Poems have depth, texture and color.I like the way lines were composed and the way words were used -often unconventional- to convey poet's message. I can't read one aload though, in fear of inflicting a composer poetic injustice.

Reading poems is like playing a musical instrument, rythm that makes you fly as a bird.I adore reading poems at the park in a sunny day.I don't know, maybe it's just a temporary feeling to make things like dreams,in a unique and ideal world, that only poetry can do it.

Poetry uses neatest words to express the most complicated feelings. When I was young, I only memorized them for their beautiful rhyme; as time goes by, I am deeply impressed by the between line meanings when something triggers me. For example, moon can trigger me of my family, and my friends.

When I read poems, It makes me wish to be a poet. I like the way they express their feelings. In my opinion, a person should have the talent to become a good poet. However, it is good to try to write some, even if you know you never can become a poet.

I don’t read poetry as much, but when I do I enjoy reading love poems. Sometimes when I feel sad I enjoy reading poetry because it puts me in a better mood. The way that feelings are expressed, how everything rhymes, it’s really neat.

A Poem is the mirror of your heart. Through a poem, we can imagine what the author thinks. Sometimes, a poet created an ideal world through poems, and I can temperately live in when I am reading that. For whom you love best, writing a poem shows your love to him, and not make him unknown until too late. For me, the poem is an ideal world, communication tool, and shelter.

In high school, we never wrote poetry, we just read them and did reflection paragraphs. I used to write poetry in my journal but I seldom anymore. Yet, I do take the time to read different poetry pieces from different authors. I believe poetry is like art but by using words and adding a significant meaning to it.

Reflecting on the Tang dynasty poetry in Chinese (like Linda, I was under parental pressure to chant verses I didn’t understand.) helps me enormously in the fear of the unknown world of English poetry. Behind those strictly condensed, carefully selected words, hide the deepest human emotions—now I understand them much better.

Poem- world is a lovely, cosy, and peaceful place that I would like to be there for a while, and the only time that I spend for my heart is when I read a poem. Astonishing rhythmic lines caress my soul and calm me down after a hard working day.

I find that poetry is an excellent way to be able to express your self in a more of a spirtiual, and creative form. It helps other individuals get better insight to your soul. Words strung together in a poem can tell you a much deeper story then any fiction or non-fiction book.

I don't have a lot of experiences with poetry. Although I do occasionally make up lyrics on the top of my head when I'm with friends. I've learned poetry during elementary and a little bit in highschool. I am not too familiar with the different types of poems. I do know some, haiku and ballad.

The poetry most impressing me was about “a monk Push or Knock a door under the moonlight” by Dao Jia who couldn't decide to adopt “push” or “knock” in his new poetry. A famous poet told him “Knock” was better than “Push” more, because it made his poem sounds loudly.

Creating a poem is a freedom of expression, and I strongly believe that everyone is a poet. Why? Because we have thoughts and feelings and we can write--whether they are clear as crystal or muddling as maze to the readers.

I learnt and memorized many Tang and Song dynasty poems when I was a student in China. I love their rhyme and rhythm, their carefully chosen words, artistic conception, and deep meanings. I started dating my boyfriend (my husband now) in university after he had written a love poem for me.

Poetry has always been in the background when it comes to my education. My English classes throughout high school slightly touched on the subject, but nothing more than that. My sister is a writer and has many inspiring poetry pieces, which I am more than willing to read.
