i was wondering if this is a correct way to use a Semicolon in my writing, i wasn't quite sure if i should add the semicolon or the word but to combine the sentences together.
I am sure my boyfriend was getting annoyed at me asking every 15 minutes after 12 hours; it cured him of his granny driving.

Sometimes, a simple compound sentence is the best approach.
