Ghost World rules! How could you not love a movie where a teenage girl says, about a man 25 years older than herself, that “He's the exact opposite of everything I really hate.” Where else could you see Enid, the quirky protagonist of Terry Zwigoff’s film, trying out various disguises, turning herself “post punk” (complete with green hair) at one moment and then visiting her best friend, Rebecca at her barista’s job wearing a catwoman cowl purchased at the local sex shop the next? Enid’s no angel, but that’s what I love about her. She tells it like it is, saying to an astonished movie theater patron that her popcorn is “smothered in delicious yellow-chemical sludge!” True, but how often does anyone ever really say it? She seems irredeemable but she’s not. When Seymour, her unlikely friend (and eventually, lover), says to her that he “can't relate to 99.9% of humanity,” she counters with, “I don't think it's totally hopeless.” And, in the end, Enid leaves behind (literally and metaphorically) the ghost world, travelling on the mysterious bus without numbers over the bridge and away. My friends would love a movie like this, I’m sure.—195 words

I found the movie Ghost World to be quite disappointing and socially awkward (like the protagonist). Yes, teenagers go through different phrases of life and sometimes things might not go the way you plan it to. Enid is very negative and she has no ambition to do better in life. In the end, when she is a complete mess with no solution to her chaos, she gets on a bus and tries to leave her world behind. Maybe she thought this is for the better, however, running away and procrastinating doesn’t solve anything. On the side note, I found the relationship between Enid and Seymour very disturbing because of their age gap. Seymour is old enough to be her dad. He should know better. Then again, since they were both social misfits, I guess being together would bring some happiness in their lives. This is not a movie of my choice. I, personally would not recommend this to any of my friends. I know their attitudes and watching this movie would only depress them.

I was really surprised and found out that Ghost World is a comic book adaptation. Enid and
Rebecca are two high school friends and an outcast. They don’t care what people think of them
and they have matured quicker than the rest of the students. This film had a good start, with
sharp and interesting characters. I thought that Enid’s father was hilarious but it doesn’t seem to
go anywhere. The main character in the movie: Thora Birch, whose role as high school graduate
always thinks “I’m so much better than everybody else” and everything she sees around her is
“weird”. I believe the title is not about her living in a "ghost world", it is the opposite. She is
actually the one living as a ghost in the world. However, she was able to be friend with a music
record collector (Seymour) and this is the only chapter that I saw to be quite interesting. In the
end of this movie, it just felt like many real and painful feelings about nature of existence. I get
the feeling of self-importance and it wasn’t that funny for a comedy, the film had cloudy
message and too long. It’s a disappointment. Thus, I wouldn’t recommend this to my friends.

I have found The movie ,“Ghost World” quite funny. It’s story is basically about this teenage girl, Enid, who does things different then most “normal” people . The movie begins with Enid dancing to this old Indian rock and role song, (I don‘t know how many teenage would use that kind of music to dance with). Furthermore, if something occupy’s her mind she says it loud, which often makes people think that she is rude. For example, she gets a job in a movie theatre and to keep the jab she has to say things such as, “ why medium? When with only 25 cents more you can purchase a large beverage? Medium is really only for the suckers who don’t know the concept of value,” and that casts her job. Moreover, she falls in love with this man, Seymour, who is old enough to be her father. As far as recommendation go, I personally wouldn’t recommend this movie to any body, not because it’s not a good movie; however, because it contains a bit of curse language and some scenes that is not suitable for some viewers. 189 words

The protagonist Enid in the movie “Ghost World” by Terry Zwigoff, is a sarcastic character and is keen of observing the world around her. She lives a worry-free life, and rarely feels any guilt from her actions towards others. During the movie, she meets an elder man named Seymour, who is lonely in need of a companion and he seems to be the perfect match for Enid to shelter in. Seymour becomes a good protective friend, who seems to always be there for her. I like the way their personalities click well, at the beginning of the story because it shows that the age between them does not have an effect of their connection. However, what starts as a friendship is taken to another level by Enid. She has poor education that leads her to think that there is nothing wrong with sleeping with her friend. Enid should have had more value of herself, by not letting things get farther than just a friendship with Seymour. What makes this unsuitable is the age between the two individuals and the line that was crossed. This movie is something I would recommend to others because even from the greatest mistakes there are positive things to be learned.-205 words

After watching “Ghost World” I thought some parts were funny. However, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend one of my friends to watch it. The humor in this movie is unique and not something I think a majority of other people would find amusement from. The extent that Enid takes a joke to can be to another level. For instance, when she and Rebecca go to their friend Josh’s house and he isn’t home to answer the door, she leaves him a rude note that refers to him as a “faggot”. Throughout the movie I found Enid to be quite arrogant and annoying to watch, also my least favourite character.(Which is disappointing because she is the protagonist.) The social awkwardness when you watch this is the only amusement in my opinion. I feel this movie is definitely directed to a certain type of crowd and would not recommend it to anyone to watch. I found it to be quite boring especially towards the end and not something I would ever want to see again. -173 words.

This movie is about the life of two teenage friends, Enid and Rebecca, following their high- school graduation. The protagonist, Enid, is an intelligent teenager, who masks her angst with sarcastic and inconsiderate behaviours. For example, she plays a cruel prank on Seymour, a middle-aged unsuspecting man, but because of common interests, they later become friends when she even seems happy to find women for Seymour to date. However, she becomes jealous and vindictive when Seymour gets his first real girl friend. Later she finds a job so that she can rent an apartment with Rebecca. However, she is fired after only one day because she mocks customers. Eventually, and sadly, she manages to alienate both her friends and family and becomes very despondent about the confusing and chaotic life she has created for herself. I would recommend this movie because it seriously but humorously portrays, the anxiety which many teenagers experience about their future. The movie also has an intriguing final scene in which Enid gets on a bus, which seems to have no particular destination. In this way, audiences are left to consider whether Enid is going nowhere or to a place where she can begin life anew. -201 words

The film “Ghost World” has a surprising events associated by the main character and the conflict in her life. The two teen-agers namely Enid and Rebecca have their own world: they are living in a society measured by the challenges of life. Enid, the protagonist struggles to overcome her own difference, playing prank on Seymour, dealing issues with her father and her friend Rebecca that forces her to do a more unlikely and unthinkable decisions as human being. From the beginning until the end of the film, Enid portrays an aimless teen, noticing other people, but sensitive enough to overcome and to tackle her own battle by leaving all her problems behind. In addition to that, the Seymour and Enid “friend lover relationship” which, I think is ridiculous. The movie is quite funny in some scenes with Dough; however, I would not recommend it to my friends since the ending is not satisfying; moreover, it lacks connection to the viewers.

The movie “Ghost World” is an interesting story, although it has a mysterious and boring end. Enid is a careless girl who loves to do whatever she wants. She doesn’t seem as serious about the future as Rebecca. Her coarse language and relation with Seymour could be disturbing to some people. Some other characters: Josh, Doug, the art teacher Roberta, played their part well to make people laugh. Rebecca looks like a quite, common teenager who is interested in doing casual things like her job, attracting boys not old men, and is serious about the future. It is exciting to see how Enid feels alone when she is ignored by others, whom she ignored before. It looks funny when she feels jealous with Seymour’s girlfriend Dana and tries to show her “we're very close... In fact, I was standing right next to Seymour the first time you called.” Enid also makes Seymour confused when she doesn’t return to stay with him because, for her, he has already quit his new relationship with Dana. In short I would like to recommend it to a friend because “Ghost World” has enough interesting stuff to entertain a viewer although the end seems disappointing.

The movie "Ghost World" is about a young woman (Enid) who is an outcast to the society. In this film, she plays a role that is care free and a straightforward. For example, the scene with the customer ordering a medium soft drink and her as an employee was taught to up sell; but,  what came out of her mouth was different from what her manager thought she would say. However, some parts of the film is a bit disturbing for some viewer such as; the intimate scene with Enid and Seymour. There's also the part where it is somehow interesting because, I felt like Enid illustrate a real person. Her confusion towards what she wants in life is very understandable. I believe that some people goes to through that phase once in their life time. Overall, I found it very entertaining and hilarious. Therefore, I would recommend this film to my friends in spite of the disappointing ending, it's a movie that will humor you.

I found the movie "Ghost World" by Terry Zwigoff very interesting and comical. The film is about two outcast high school friends, Enid and Rebecca. Enid who is the protagonist is very cynical, sarcastic and immature. It seems as if she didn't know where to start in life in the sense that, she can't hold on to a job, didn't get her high school diploma and got involve with Seymour; a record collector who is 25 years older than her.He was her partner in loneliness.Only Seymour can understand Enid's trouble with individualizing herself while at the same time trying to find some happiness because he has had the same problem all of his life.I found their relationship very disgusting because of their age gap. What makes me wonder at the end of the movie is when Enid took the mysterious bus without numbers and travelling over the bridge with no destination .I don't think my friends would like a movie like this, i'm not sure.

After I watched the movie “Ghost World” by Terry Ziwigoff , I found the movie interesting and funny.
The main characters Enid and Rebecca played a role as a teen age girls with different decisions to make in their lives. The main protagonist Enid struggle to manage herself, after she finishes high school. However, Enid’s friend Rebecca has strong skill of communications. So that it was a lot easier for her to get a job in a customer service. Enid was very out spoken. On the other hand, being a typical teenage girl leads her to lose her job. In the movie, Enid’s frustration made her to prank Seymour. After Enid knew Seymour well, she taught he was a nice man with luck of social communication. So that she felt for him and tried to solve his problem. In the movie, it was interesting that when Enid borrowed Seymour’s picture (Chicken Cancun in a brown man face) to the school exhibition there was many people who disliked the picture. Thus, they took out the picture and made a big deal of it. However, at this time even if there is a criticism, but it is not obviously shown to others. I would like to recommend a friend to watch the movie, because I found it thoughtful and funny.

The film mentions about two teenage girls, Enid and Rebecca, living in their first summer after high-school graduation. Enid, the protagonist, an impulsive, with some artic talented girl, always tries to disguise her anxiety of lack of care with her cynical and acrimonious behaviors. In a sense, she is egocentric, which reflects on her relation with other people. Because Enid is tired of living with her kind but ineffectual father, Enid works in order to afford to rent an apartment with her best friend, Rebecca. But she is fired at the first day for teasing customers. Furthermore, the gap between Enid and Rebecca is getting wider for their different attitude to face the society. Finally, when Rebecca rents an apartment under Enid beg repeatedly. Enid leaves without noticing Rebecca. Compared with Enid, Rebecca lives more concretely and peacefully. Strictly speaking, "Ghost World" is not a movie for teenage unless you are mature enough to understand the movie. For example, one of symbolic scenes is that an old man always waits bus which Enid thinks would never come. But after her finding bus coming amazedly, she takes this no sign, no destination's bus leaving for her uncertain future. Audience may have different reflections on this movie because we have ever been young. That is the reason why I recommend "Ghost World."

The name of the film “Ghost World” was very interesting to me before watching it. I had heard of it before but I never got the chance to see it. When I first saw the cover of the film I thought it was going to be a funny and romantic film but it was kind of the opposite of what I expected. There were only a few funny scenes in the film, which was sarcastic. From what I have seen the movie also seems pretty boring and untrue for some reasons if we compare it to real life. I don't really think young teenagers about Enid’s and Rebecca’s age would get this sort of humor in real life since our life is full of other important things that we should go after. This film just didn’t make a lot of sense to me despite receiving a lot of positive reviews. I found the plot of the film quite boring especially the ending which ended unknown so therefore I wouldn’t really recommend it to my friends.(177)

Yes! I would recommend the movie “Ghost World” to anyone, especially to my good friends. It is a comedy and slightly drama movie, I’d say, about two girls caught in a series of funny events. The movie is starting with the two girls, Enid and Rebecca, with their natural way of expressing themselves in the society by using physical gesture like pointing the middle finger up in the air in front of the high school and followed by the very intense coarse language used throughout the movie. Enid seems to take over the action, when she gets involved into the life of the very unlucky and shy character called Seymour, by encouraging him to allow her to find a soul mate for him. The funny thing is that, gradually towards the end of the movie, she almost becomes his lover. The little drama part of the movie is that despite the fact that Enid is emphasizing the idea of how much she wanted to end with the school for good, towards the end she has a revelation in which she wanted to go back, eventually for Arts College, unfortunately a little too late. Overall, it is a great movie which my best friends would love to see it.

I would highly recommend in my friends to watch the movie “ghost world”. Although, most of my friends enjoy watching action/ adventure movies, they would enjoy this movie. I found the movie to embody the youth of its time. The protagonist in the movie “ghost world” straggled with the same issues that every young people straggle with after graduation, which is what’s next? Most movies are made to push the boundaries of our imagination and escape into fantasy, “ghost world” used real life to relate to it audience. I found this movie to be corky, funny and leave the audiences with wanting more. The only problem I have with this film is the ending. Although, I understand what the movie trying to accomplish by ending the movie with an unresolved issues, it lift me with a sense of emptiness. Otherwise the movie “ghost world” is entertaining and enjoyable to watch. Therefore, I would highly recommend this movie to my friends.

“Ghost World” Review
“Ghost world” is a delightfully sinister, dark- comedy; the film depicts a deeper look at American teenage life. It begins with two best friends, Enid and Rebecca at their high-school graduation, who are ready to embark upon their journey into the “adult world”. Though inseparable through their senior years, Enid and Rebecca soon veer into two separate directions in life. Enid the protagonist a blatant, often foul-mouthed and inconsiderate adolescent girl undergoes several hilarious, yet ironic situations. Along with the continuous turns in events, the movie touches base on numerous unspoken topics such as the secrets of the consumer world as well as racism. Using a mixture of melancholy and satire, I liked the potency of the remarks made on such topics, for example when one character comments on racism, “I suppose things are better now, but… I don’t know, people still hate each other they just hide it better.” The realistically relatable characters, unpredictable ending and the originality of the plot are just a few of what made this movie so fascinating and fun to watch. I give “Ghost World” two thumbs up and recommend it as a film that is unlike others. (194 words)By Liza m

“Ghost world” is a comic book onto the screen. From the beginning we see the influence of the original comic book by Daniel Clowes of the same name; with it nerdy characters awkward and unexpected scenes beside its taste funny but special dialogues. Even the story theme about growing up, related to friendship and maturity in a meaningless modern society, is inspiring and easy to relate to for any fan of the comic or viewer use to this particular style .Nonetheless despite its quality “Ghost world” will hardly convince a larger audience. For it has a very slow pace and its awkwardness (which is also it strength) is difficult to grasp for mostly people. In fact “Ghost world” might very well be boring for most because of these two reasons. Therefore “ghost world” should mostly focus to the fan base of the comic book- contrary to a “Scott pilgrim versus the world” more attractive to a larger audience-. For this reason, I will not recommend it unless a friend is a fan of this type of movie.
