Love spending a day at the pumpkin patch each year, enjoying the autumn weather( there is a chill in the air), venturing into corn quest maze, bunny town, tractor trail, picking some pumpkins and simmering the pot, the feeling of a colorful mixture for a hearty fall soup.

Loved green-green summer grass, but the reds and golds of leaves are greeting me now. Loved exploring new places always, but now I admit the best place is a good memory place.

Look at life as a satisfying meal; nothing’s more comforting on a chilly day than a bowl of soup.

Love lying on the beach in a midsummer night, gazing at the glittering stars shining in the sky, listening to the waves softly caressing the shore, inhaling in the gentle breeze (mixed with a hint of saltiness from the seawater), lingering in the serenity and inner peace of this dreamland.

Love watching water barrels fill in a garden misty wet with rain, pounding the first garlic of August under the heel of my hand, digging Kennebec spuds (with a handy pitchfork) on the boulevard out front, the feeling you get when you bite into the first vine ripened tomato of summer.

Loved my grandmother’s home grown potatoes, but that garden was abandoned long ago. Loved the days and days of rain in soggy Vancouver, but know the climate’s quickly changing.

Look at life as a sun kissed garden; know how fragile all things can be.

This is my second revision that reduced the word count by five words without changing meaning. Don’t be afraid to cut if you need to. Often, my revisions were more to do with rhythm. Also, I avoided repeating “potatoes” by using the vernacular, “spuds.” I like the combination of sounds in “Kennebec” and “spud” as well. I also extended my final words to six, adding “all things” to mean the whole of creation. Best of luck everyone!
