Poetry, with laser-like efficiency, penetrates more deeply into my heart than any other literature. I love its unique ability to make me feel. Reading two or three poems a week is a balm for my soul. Without poetry, my life would be barren, my spirit unfed.

Poetry is my gate way to finding peace and happiness, when I write poetry I love how I can turn my emotions into rhyme words it lift my spirit. I won my high school poetry contest in grade 12 which meant a lot me because I was afraid to share a part of me with others. Without poetry I wouldn’t be the person I am today.

Poetry for me is a huge ocean on a sunny day with blue and clear water. Poetry hugs me very softly and relieves my burden. Poetry gives me strength and happiness when reading it, especially when I have lost hope. Poetry brings satisfaction to my soul. Without poetry, my life would be a barren desert.-55 words

Motivational and inspirational poetry, I really adore. It gives me a sense of enormous
well being. A line or two from Dalai Lama's poetry and words of wisdom has become a daily prayer for me. Without poetry is like living a good life without a purpose.

When I was in high school in India I never heard the term “Poetry”. When I started going to school here in Canada again, I was told by my son that “Poetry” is a required to be learned here. One day while I was in class my teacher explained what “Poetry” was he said “It’s a type literature that uses devices and words to make a picture in your head.” I find poetry hard still to this day.

My soul wiggles happily every time I heard or read poetry. My spirit enjoys the beautiful touching of the words that conceive such a piece of art. I cannot imagine my life without it. My soul will be into deep darkness and words will not have meaning in my life.

My Experiences in Poetry

Poetry is the smooth waves of words that can wash away all of the burdens in life. Although I have never wrote a poem, I cannot live without reading them. Whenever I feel that the bundle of life gets too heavy, I go to read poems. The magical words from Hafiz (the Iranian poet) make me to fly and reach the blue sky.

Two of my favourite poets are shel Silverstein and Edgar Allan Poe, who are complete opposites of each other. Shel Silverstein’s poetry is weird and funny, meant to be read by children, while Edgar Allan Poe’s poetry (or POEtry as I like to call it) is dark and twisted. I myself prefer to write poetry that is dark and sad, but sometimes if I’m in the mood I’ll write something humorous and happy. – 73 words

Poetry is an art of rhythmical composition, written or spoken. Every single word carries deep valuable meaning. Also it makes a reader to sympathize with words. Sometimes I find that understanding poetry is very difficult, but it feels great to finally realize the poet's intention of writing after reading several times and thinking about it.

“My Experience with Poetry”
It is amazing that I get difference experience from poetry at different ages: when I was a teenage boy, I liked to recite exquisite rhythm and plaintive words to highlight my sentimentality; nowadays, however, I more enjoy softly fragrant and heartwarming atmosphere behind the verse which can only be tasted in quiet.

I like Chinese ancient poetry a lot. I always feel amazing that the poetry can contain so strong emotion and details in such limited words. I tried to write the ancient style poetry when I took the Chinese Major in the university. It was an interesting and unforgettable experience.

Poetry, when I was at grades school, was a bitter pill after meal. I had to chew it, though that’s not my will. After years, the taste remained the same, until one day, Brad came; showing me the same pill with another fill. Now I’ve got a different feel: life without poetry is like a birthday cake without candles.

Poetry is an art. It is for anybody to express their feeling - like painting, sculpture, music, etc. Poetry is not meant to be easy to understand; it is a unique language of the author. Poetry is the crystal of emotions, which can be viewed again all the time. Poetry is... part of who we are.

My Experience With Poetry

In my opinion poetry is a different way to express thoughts or feelings. I consider poetry as an original writing, where words posses a deep meaning. Sometimes is not easy to understand, but is part of the beauty about this art.

Poetry is like a protein that feeds my emotions the nutrients they need
to stay strong. When I read poetry I feel mesmerized by the words painted in
my mind by the authors. Although sometimes poems can be sad, the end result
is inevitably a great chance to have a thinking session about the meaning behind
the words.

Poetry reminds me my childhood and school: I always enjoyed to listen Pushkin’s fairy-tales, but never experience to write. Sometimes we were playing to talk rhymed when we were teenagers, but it was a game. To write poetry was for me always something impossible, something special. Not every poetry I like. Words-51

Writing a Poem is looking into something through a magnifying glass. A hidden or unrealized beauty of objects comes alive in a moment. Above that, when I find life lessons I’ve been eager for, a surge of emotions and feelings multiplies; I feel so awake! Then, the imprinted remains in me, and stir me from time to times. (58 words)

Poetry, with ocean-like meaning, quenches the thirst of my soul. I like it because whenever I read poems, my soul flies and reaches comfort. Repeating my memorized poems rejoices my mind and soul. Without poetry my soul would wander, and my life’s sky would be moonless. –46 words

I love that poetry rhymes, and sometimes it does not. At times, poetry can tell a life story (something so realistic) and sometimes it describes things or places so that we can almost feel them. Poetry is magical and very unique. I wrote a poem that was published in the “Celebration of Poetry in British Columbia” and it was a fun experience. I was very proud of myself and thankful for the recognition. - 73 Words.
