“With depression rates growing continuously every year,” the medical field most often prescribes medication. “But there are two more methods, not often mentioned, possibly because they don't cost a lot of money.” They are meditation (self directed neuroplasticity) and volunteering, “but what is new is that scientific research is starting to back it up - making it more legitimate.”

“New discoveries provide scientific confirmation that the teen years are a time of significant transition. They shed the light on the mysteries of adolescence and demonstrate that adolescents have significant neurological deficiencies that result in stark limitations of judgment.”
This means to me that just because kids look like they get it , they don’t always and the research shows that neglect, abuse and poverty can cause them to be psychologically imbalanced and violent.

Neuroplasticity: Can Chiropractic help change our brain? by Dr. Graeme Gibson, D.C.
“Over time, the chiropractic adjustment acts as an impulse which effects the neurology of the body and neuroplasticity of the brain.” I found in this article many examples given from Dr. Doidge book The Brain That Changes Itself. I liked that the article demonstrates all the possibilities that neuroplasticity plays in the role of recovery with patients.

Alzheimer is a disease resulting in conditions ranging from loss of memories, difficulties in performing normal daily tasks, up to complete personality and mood changes, and eventually resulting in complete loss of orientation in elder ages.
Some abnormal known changes in brain tissue (formation of amyloid tangles) are happening as the disease is progressing. The cause of it is not clear yet. Since the cause is not recognized an effective therapy is not yet available.
A new finding is suggesting the cause is in the liver not in the brain. Scientists found that a substance that leads to brain plaque, which is associated with Alzheimer's, might have its source in the liver, not the brain, and can thus be treated outside the brain.
