Here I am:

Love eating a cherry tomato still hot from an August sun, walking through coastal forests full of leaning hemlocks, floating in a lake (while talking to a good friend beside me), chatting with my daughter over sushi, the feeling you get when everyone stands as one at a concert.

Loved my bicycle (obviously), but never ride it anymore. Loved my dog, but she died in mid-summer.

Look at life through a different lens now I’ve passed 50; see it now with both eyes wide open.

Am I following Brad? Yes, as I waited for him to write first comment. Just returned back home after finishing work and dinner at 11:30 PM. Now I am jotting down some words for my prospective readers.

I have varied interests: some regular some peculiar. As a child I played all kinds of sports, read comics, watched cartoons. During adulthood learned two new languages, in addition to the three I already knew since childhood. After university degree, I worked in three different professions of Engineering, Project Management and Human Resource Planner.

Later I immigrated to Canada. Here I am, learning again.

I’m Sarina, this right here is me:

I enjoy travelling, take me to coral pink sand, blue sky’s and even bluer water and I’m forever yours. Teach me a few phrases in your language and you won’t stop hearing them for days. In the car, you’ll only be jamming to from back in the day Tony Toni Tone to Kanye from today. I get hungry fast so when there’s East Indian food in front me, don’t tell me to stop, the word “full” does not exist at that time.

There you have it a basic intro, I could go on forever.

I called up a friend and asked what kind of person she thinks I am. Everyone close to me knows that I am not good at describing myself nor at receiving compliments—I needed help.

“You are a very analytical person,” she said. “You think too much; you think about things
that no one really cares about. You are crazy!”

“What’s wrong?” I said. “Are you crying? Did you and your mom had an argument?”

“See?” She said, laughing. “That’s exactly what I am talking about. I am chopping onions for Christ’s sake!”

Well, I guess I do think too much. (I heard her sobbing, though!)

I'm a stubborn but diligent woman who likes eating delicious food, listening to concerts, and enjoying ceramic arts.
Chinese steamed trout and Russian baked cod make my saliva overflow; however, my stomach always fights with my mouth because of my stomach ulcer. Sometime, I need surrealistic thinking, so Mozart and Bach’s music are my favorites, which both have oddly dreamlike or unreal qualities. I want to collect some ceramic art but, it is expensive. Hopefully, enjoying some galleries or studios will be sufficient for me. I focus not only on the ceramic styles but their materials, which is my subject.

Hello Everyone:

I am a girl from faraway Western part of Africa. Migrated to Canada with my family few years ago. I like it here in Canada, although, I still missed my ancestral land. Partly because of my love for sunny climate.

I love nature, especially the mountains and the lakes. I also love reading and my favorite book is the Bible (sounds weird) because it gives me hope and enriches my understanding of the world around me today.

I still love my family and always want to be around them. An affection guided by good principal, bond of love.

Hello! I’m thrilled to be here with all of you. I live in NW and explored Canada before settling here. I’m originally from Afghanistan. When I first moved to Canada, I hated it because of cold. I booked my ticket to move to California. A friend invited me to Vancouver. He said, “if you come and visit Vancouver you might like it.” Looking out the window from the plane, I instantly fell in love with Vancouver and my packed bags never made it to California. I’m glad I stayed, because later when I visited California it was not for me.

Listening to the classic music from my iPod and watching my daughter yelling and playing on the lawn under the early autumn sunshine today, I felt it a real luxury.

When was the last time my husband and I had a quite wine and dine? Was it in 2006 I went to an opera with my closest friend? There is just no enough time for things I love to do!

Like a little tree being implanted to a new place, I need to spread roots deeply, before blooming and fruiting. Through studying with you, I will reach my career goal.

I had been busy raising children and working in and outside home for years; hardly could find my leisure time. Finally, the precious “time” came and is mine to use for myself.
One part of me longs for a relaxed and easy-going life and at the same time, the other part of me craves reasonable challenges. I’m torn between the two.
I’m here today doing English homework with my reading glasses on, instead of golfing with friends.
I will be busy doing my homework this winter, knowing that I don’t enjoy a carefree lifestyle as much as I wished. (101 words)

Before moving to Vancouver three years ago, I was a typical Chinese intellectual woman - having own profession, taking care of most house work and kid's things. Now I am a house wife and a student in Adult school. I love cats but my current building doesn't allow people raising animal. Even though I am already in the middle of my 40's, I haven't adjusted my mind, view and way of life well to this age. I Like immaginating and believe that tomorrow will be better. Since learning is a kind of fan, I treasure every oppotunity of study.

I am originally from a city, in north-east China, called Changchun. I went to a university in Japan, and got married there. My only son was born in Japan. Since we moved to Canada three and a-half years ago, he got all his education in Canada. I do miss my family and friends in China a lot, especially on every Chinese traditional holiday, but there are always things here that have to be done. I like to live in a busy city, see everyday’s change, and feel something new.

I moved to Vancouver nine years ago; the quietness of this place drove me crazy. I was madly missing my hometown Shanghai where people and energy flow. But now, I can’t stand the noisiness and crowdedness of Shanghai, the cars and millions of people drove me crazy. Maybe, I am the kind who never gets content.

I love to challenge myself to do the impossible; I love to climb the steepest mountain, working until midnight to pay for my college. Not until I passed my thirties, the aching of my body demanded me to slow down and take it easy.C

I moved to Vancouver just when I though I reach almost all my goals in life. I have a wonderful career, I am an architect, and I worked in my field for many years. Now I need to restart again. I like challenges, and I think coming to Canada and be successful is one of them. I always say that every situation has two faces: good and bad. Most of the time, I try to see the good face and be positive. I am a happy person. I love to dance and travel, but most of all I love my family.

In addition, I wish I will improve English as well and enter the college to accomplish my goat.

I moved to Vancouver 11 months ago. I prefer to solve any problem in discussion. Chatting with friends and dealing with people is my daily activity. I missed Ethiopian cultural food called “Injera”. It is a challenging to adapt to the new environment, culture, and life style for me. However, what ever difficult to me is easy to God and I believe that very soon I will go through. I like my parents specially my grad mom who used to tell me an interesting story. I like people who believe in equality and respect the other and oppose strongly discrimination.

Dear reader,
I am a proud Afghan Canadian woman and have been in Canada for about seven years. I love the thrill of horseback riding, I am in love with spicy food, I enjoy going out with friends and family, and I enjoy reading the paper every morning. One of the biggest and greatest benefits I got from Canada is the feeling of peace and freedom. I am looking forward to a bright and positive future. Completing all of my lifetime obligations for example; gaining a higher level of education and obtaining a high-quality job are all included within this.

I moved from Poland to Canada three years ago. This year I finally graduated from highschool and now I'm aiming at becoming a pharmacy technician. Currently I am a part time worker and a student obviously. My free time, which I've got plenty, I enjoy spending with friends or alone. Good thing we are limited to 100 words so I can spare you the details ;)

I came to Vancouver six years ago from Korea. Since then, my favorite sport was changed from golf to mountain climbing gradually. Every weekend, I visit one of the mountains near Vancouver which has wonderful scene according to the seasons. One of my new hobbies is making fruit wine with blueberry and blackberry. I realized that English couldn’t improve with living in Vancouver itself. The best way are attending school with homework and examinations. I feel my English are getting better and better after attending PALC. I think English 12 grade is quiet necessary for the best living in Vancouver.
