The story “Cat in the Rain” would be changed if it was told by the American woman from the first person’s point of view. She could explain all her feelings about her miserable life. For example, she repeatedly talks about the cat, “Anyway, I want the cat”. She would be trying to show her husband that she is bored and suffers from loneliness she wants something to give her meaning in her life. Also she could explain why she likes the hotel owner.
