    Poetry is a style of writing using literary techniques to express deep emotion and point of view with rich meaning words.

    personification, as one of the elements of poetry, is making a non living thing alive and giving it human qualities or giving human qualities to plants and animals “The sky was crying ” or “The moon smiles. Fires rage.”


    Hyperbole is exaggeration of reality, making things more noticeable, “She is eating tons of toffees”

  3. Why is poetry written?
    Poetry is written to grab the reader attention to something has been forgotten for years.Also people like the musical sound of poetry, so it can enter the mind and heart easly. In addition, poetry is easy to memorize ,and it stays memorised for a long time.

    What is its purpose?

    The purpose to write poetry is entertaining, patroitism, communicate cultures, human histories and finding the soul.

  4. One of the important purposes of poetry is the culture inheritance. In China, kids are taught poems by their parents at home even when they don’t learn the words yet at the age of 5 or 6 years old. These poems are the collection written by the well-known Chinese ancient poets and represent the value of historical cultures. The kids memorize them without comprehension. But as the children grow up, they will understand more and more what the poems really mean.

  5. A special quality poetry has is it can express a much deeper meaning and be more thought provoking for the reader as compared to reading a short story. Another quality is that poetry can often be easier to memorize due to the rhyme and beats that poems sometimes have.

    I prefer the melody.
    I prefer the butterfly.
    I prefer the footprints along the mountain Alpine.
    I prefer Beethoven to Macheal Jackson.
    I prefer myself curing people’s soul
    to myself hurting others’ build.
    I prefer keeping a dictionary on hand , just in case.
    I prefer the color blue.
    I prefer not to leave
    that homesickness won’t be following with.
    I prefer creations.
    I prefer to graduate early.
    I prefer talking to the principal about something else.
    I prefer to mute.
    I prefer the absurdity of speaking others’ lauguage
    to the ridicule of not speaking my own one.
    I prefer, where love's concerned, the new-born babies
    that can be celebrated every day.
    I prefer pastors
    who promise me nothing but heaven.
